Dictionary and Thesaurus
If you wish to cite a specific definition in a dictionary entry, give the relevant designation (e.g. number, letter) after the abbreviation def.
Entry title and definition number in parenthetical citation:
According to The Oxford English Dictionary, insanity is “disordered intellect, diseased or unsound mind, madness, lunacy” (“Insanity,” def. 1a).
What the Works Cited page looks like:
